June 21-23. The Sunshine Coast Museum and Archives celebrates the traditions of the Coast Salish people with a summer workshop series. This is the first of three. You will learn the basic skills of weaving on a loom and over the course of the weekend, complete a wool shawl to take home. Friday evening you will warp up the looms from 5pm to 8pm. Saturday and Sunday will be full days of weaving from 10am to 4pm. All supplies included. No experience necessary.

The Sechelt Canada Day Mile is back! Previously held from 2006 to 2008, this run is a fun, active way to celebrate the holiday. The race starts 15 mins before the Canada Day Parade (organized by the Sechelt Downtown Business Association) and goes along the main parade route twice, in front of thousands of enthusiastic spectators. Afterwards, enjoy the parade and festivities along Cowrie Street.
